I have an IBM laptop that usually connects to the internet automatically in most places, but when I try to get on through my friend’s linksys wireless router I can enter the network key and connect, however, the network connections says "Aquiring network address" and never actually aquires it. I try to repair it and it says there was an invalid IP address. Are my settings wrong? Am I missing some software?
How can I get my laptop to receive internet through linksys wireless…?

I guess you should reinstall your modem software. I guess comcast works way better in this regard.
